Personally, this weekend I've taken a break from pretty much everything, so I'm grateful for the past few weeks of new music I've been saving up to cash out on a lazy day like today (and also for the Insecure Season 3 soundtrack which is basically The Sunday Lineup and is all over this week's Lineup).Read More
Lineup #205 is full of everything you need this week: disco-tinged chillwave from Roosevelt and Washed Out, some excellent covers from Father John Misty and Courtney Barnett, new singles from Cat Power and Christine and the Queens, a sample of Mitski's latest stunner Be The Cowboy and even a couple of tearjerkers (I see you Aretha and Tomberlin). Plus, a bunch of other things that came into my orbit over the past few weeks that I can't wait to share with you.Read More
I spent this past weekend in a cabin on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound celebrating the milestone birthday of longtime TML family member JMS. You can consider Lineup #204 to be the greatest hits version of the 16 hours (!) of playlists I made for the weekend. It truly does have everything you need to get through your Monday.Read More
After last week's massive music drop, things were noticeably calmer this week, giving me some time to catch up on new music I've missed, get reacquainted with some old favorites and have a much needed Hamilton binge. Oh, and listen to the new Robyn song "Missing U" a thousand times, which is exactly how you'll be starting your Monday. Enjoy.Read More
Last Monday I was lamenting the cancellation of this year's edition of FYF Fest, but this week I have a lot more to celebrate. Namely the crazy summer music drop that happened on Friday - which included two new singles and album announcements from Blood Orange and Jungle, more new singles from BROCKHAMPTON and Maggie Rogers, the much anticipated (by me) EP from Channel Tres and a surprise album from Santigold.Read More
Pour one out for FYF.
If things had gone to plan, I would have been sending out this week's Lineup from sunny Los Angeles, after 2 days of music at FYF Fest, a festival that quickly rose in the rankings to be one of my favorite on U.S. soil. But like many things in 2018, FYF superfans like myself had the rug pulled out from under us when the festival was suddenly cancelled in May, allegedly because of low ticket sales.Read More
Today is a pretty momentous one over here at TML HQ. Not only have I hit the wild and crazy milestone of creating playlists 200 weeks in a row without interruption, but you might notice something, oh, I don't know, slightly different about the website.
And by slightly different, of course I mean that The Monday Lineup has undergone it's biggest and baddest makeover since I got started with this project almost 4 years ago! I'm not one to toot my own horn, but hot damn this new version totally takes TML to the next level.Read More
In the past 2 weeks I’ve spent more waking hours in airports and airplanes than in my own city. It’s been a beautiful whirlwind of friends, family and once in a lifetime travel experiences, and while I’m the first to admit how happy I am to sleep in my own bed again, I have an emotional hangover coming on unlike any other. So, some good music is of the upmost importance this week.Read More
Similar to last week, I didn't start out making this week's Lineup with an intentional theme. But lucky for your Monday, a theme has once again emerged.Read More
I know I'm like a broken record in this email newsletter, each week saying, "so much good new music is coming out, bla bla bla". But, after going slightly off the music grid (save for 30 waking hours at a music festival) it feels like the world has exploded with new releases…Read More
Yet again, this week's Lineup has a ton of new music that I've been vibing on recently. Um, hello new releases from Anderson. Paak, Christine and The Queens, Disclosure and Mitski! There's also an unintentional 80s vibe going on and I threw some Florence and Lorde on there for you for good measure. Never hurts, right?Read More
